Trip to Korea (Part 4: Busan and Return trip)

After the orbitronics workshop, I moved to Busan to participate in the Korean Magnetics Society meeting for the winter of 2023, where I also gave an invited talk. This time, because the audience was broad, I presented an overview on orbitronics, my own reconstruction of the development of the field. I think my talk went fine (I gave a similar talk for more than ten times so far…).

Busan, the city where we stayed, is in fact my hometown, and I know the area very well. So, every morning and evening, when I have some free time, I tried to walk on my own or with my colleagues and friends. The atmosphere is entirely different from where I currently live in Germany in that Busan is much more active and full of people even in the night, especially near the beach and many bars in the area. I also enjoyed sunny days!

The return trip back to Germany was not so easy, unfortunately. To be precise, the trip to Germany was fine, but the problem was when I wanted to go to my home from the airport. There was a strike, so no express train was available in the night when I landed. I was already exhausted from the trip, so I concluded that it would be unwise to try to move during the night (it would have been impossible anyway), especially with two suitcases weighing 30 kg in total. Fortunately, I was able to book a hotel room in Mainz. On the next day, I also noticed that there was no train running, so I had to leave very early to move by local trains. By lunch time, fortunately, I arrived at home — warn and sweet!
