In between businesses, I spent a weekend in Tokyo. The main purpose was, in fact, to see my friend Taekoo, who is currently a postdoc at RIKEN-CEMS. Saturday and Sunday have been quite relaxing indeed. I woke up rather late (I tried to sleep more despite the hell jetlag!) and met Taekoo. We then had meals and a few drinks.
I find it fortunate to have friends, who are also working in the same field. This means, we were able to talk about many things about work and related to career, like research topics, career, work-life balance, and the difficulties to achieve that. It was just like old times. But now that we are more ‘grown-up’, the feeling of mutual respect and support was very comforting also.
