Vacation in French Alps

May is always a good month. The weather is getting warmer (but it is not too hot), and the nature is turning green. What is also good is that there several bank holidays. Although the amount of working hours is lesser than other month, the productivity isn’t low because I get recharged after all the breaks.

This year, I spent good two weeks in French Alps. Everyday, I had a chance to see beautiful landscapes and try tasty mountain foods, thanks to the family from my wife’s side, who are great 5-star local guides with warm hospotality.

One thing that attracted my interest was all the grey/black soil, limestone, and slates. This is an evidence that this land was under the sea “not long time ago”. As a result, you can find a very interesting feature as the one shown in the picture below. This is quite in contrast to Korean mountains, which mainly consist of very hard rocks such as granite.

Tomorrow, it’s already time to drive back to Germany. It takes about 10 hours on the road. I hope it doesn’t get too much delayed with all the traffics at the end of the long weekend.
